What NGOs exactly are?

Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) exists outside the government & private market sectors, which is why it is referred to as the third sector in the society i.e. non-profit sector.

Basically, NGOs are the Networking & Support centers for the masses, which fills the gap between the citizens & community and National & local Governments with Information, Knowledge, Finances, Services and Capacities.

What are the Categories of NGOs?

The term NGO is very broad and encompasses   many different types of organizations. They are divided into 4 types- Charitable, Participatory, Service and Empowering. A few other categories are listed below-

CONCLUSION

Now, coming back to Section 8 Companies briefing; it is very important to know that these companies are based on the ‘License’ granted to them. So, they cannot even alter their memorandum or articles of association without the permission of Central Government (Govt. of India). They are cannot perform any action that the license disallows.

Their license can be cancelled/revoked on the following grounds:

  • If the company flouts/unfollow the provisions of section 8
  • If the Terms of the license are violated
  • If the conduct is fraudulent, or it violates its own objectives and public policy

Winding up themselves is very easy for these companies as Section 8 Companies of India can wind-up or dissolve themselves voluntarily or under orders given by the Central Government. If any assets remain after satisfaction of debts and liabilities upon such winding-up, the National Company Law Tribunal can order the transfer of these assets to a similar company. It can also order that they must be sold and the proceeds of this sale should be credited to the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Fund.

Therefore, Section 8 Companies are always been seen as a special purpose vehicle, which accomplishes the Government’s mission for the betterment of the society. Non-profit sector is the bridge between the society and their well-being providing a enormous platform, where one can join hands to work & contribute to societal issue; in order to make this ‘World a better place…’

Section 8 Companies or Not-for-Profit or Non-Profit or NGOs should always be in picture that will bring a drastic & a best volunteer change, not only in India but globally.

“Rekindling Hopes, Rebuilding Society, Reaching the Unreached, Recreating a Better Nation, and Reviving the World…”

Section 8 Companies- Preserving the Heritage of the Nation and Promoting the Social & Cultural Activities of the Nation- INDIA!
