" engineering export promotion council of india,

EEPC India is a non-commercial and non-profit organization which is the largest Export Promotion Council in India. It was established in 1955 under Ministry of Commerce, Government of India. It has a membership strength of around 13000 Indian engineering firms from SMEs to large corporates. EEPC India is now a full member of the France-based UFI – the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry. 

Its Head Office is in Kolkata and the territorial office is in New Delhi and many other Regional and the Sub-Regional offices. Its apex decision making body is its Working Committee.

EEPC fixes Annual Export Target in line with Government of India's Foreign Trade Policy and decides upon various measures to be undertaken. It acts as an edge between exporters and various Government of India Bodies like DGFT, Customs, Central Excise, RBI, EXIM Bank etc on policy matters related to exports.
It organizes various Promotional Activities in India and Abroad under MDA/MAI scheme of Government of India. It commences publicity campaign and brings out publications, film, CDs, market survey reports etc. on regular basis.

PROMOTIONAL ACTIVITIES BY COUNCIL:

The Council undertakes several promotional activities throughout the year in various countries-

  1. Exclusive Indian Engineering Exhibitions (INDEE).
  2. Participation in major international trade fairs.
  3. Buyer-Seller Meets in Overseas Countries.
  4. Reverse Buyer-Seller meets in India.
  5. Multi-Product Trade Delegations to overseas countries.
  6. Seminars/Conferences, Awareness Programmes etc. in India.
  7. Opening of Show room cum Display centre.

  • Nominal GST Payment of 0.1% for acquiring goods from domestic suppliers for export.
  • EEPC Members can obtain Certificate of Membership (CoO) online.

  • The Registration Cum Membership Certificate (RCMC) allotted by import export (import export certification) is mandatory for availing some export affiliate associate export benefits under Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) for the engineering products.
  • Members can avail exemption of bank guarantee under Advance Authorization, DFIA and EPCG Schemes if they have a valid RCMC
  • Participation in international trade fairs can be done at subsidized rate under MAI scheme and discounted participation fees for members upgradation like Seminars, Webinars and others.
  • Access to EEPC India's Market Intelligence Reports, Data and Publication like
  • Export - Import Data, Monthly Magazine - Indian Engineering Exports, Daily News Briefing.
  • EEPC India Provides visa recommendation letters for its members.

EEPC India disseminates information to its members through weekly bulletin – INFO, informative website www.eepcindia.org or by sending regular E-mails.

NEED OF RCMC.

Any person, applying for a license/certificate to import/export, or any other benefit or concession under this policy shall be required to furnish Registration-cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC) granted by the competent authority.

WHO CAN APPLY FOR EEPC MEMBERSHIP

  1. Manufacturers, processors of engineering goods.
  2. Merchant Exporters, Government recognize Export and Trading House, Design engineering, Consultancy, Erection, Ship Builders, Ship Repairers, Civil Engineering and Construction firms.
  3. Institutions, Chambers of Commerce, Industries and Trade Associations.
  4. Small Scale Units borne on the list of Directorate of Industries or small-scale service institutes for export of engineering goods or services of more than Rs. 60 lakhs or upto 60 lakhs during the preceding year or such export performance, as may be agreed by the Working Committee from time to time.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

The Council shall have the following categories of members, namely:

(a) Associate Members                                                 

(b) Ordinary Members

(b) Affiliate Members

(a) An associate member, is eligible on receiving the Import-­Export Code Number from the Director General Foreign Trade, Govt of India, in respect of the product with which the Council is concerned. 

(b) For Ordinary Member person must qualify following requirements:

1. Associate Member of council for at least 3 years.

2. Member must have, to his or its credit, average exports during the three financial years immediately preceding, in respect of the product of not less than the amount mentioned below: 

MSME Rs. 30 Lakhs 

Others Rs. 50 Lakhs 

When becomes eligible for an ordinary member, it is obligatory upon the Associate member to apply to the Committee of Administration expressing his willingness to become an Ordinary member.

(c) Affiliate Membership accommodates applicants dealing in non-engineering product items but are closely associated with the engineering sector.

 

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED TO BECOME A EEPC MEMBER.

  • A self-certified copy of the certificate relating the Import-Export Code number allotted by the Licensing authority.
  • Chartered Accountant certificate, verifying the export turnover figure (FOB value in Rupees) during year before the preceding year. If there was no export during the preceding year (for new members) a NIL certificate should be obtained from the Chartered Accountant and attached.
  • A cancelled cheque, with its bank name, branch, IFSC Code etc.
  • Residential Address partners/directors list duly certified by them.
  • If the application is being made for registration as a Manufacturer, the applicant should also submit:

Manufacturer-Exporter Registered with DGTD/SIA Textile Commissioner/ FIPB, New Delhi

Manufacturer-Exporter Registered under the MSME Act, 2006 with Small Scale Industries Service Institute or Director of Industries as MSME/SSI Unit)

  • Any other documentary evidence, if any required.

The applicants while applying for the membership & registration shall have to enclose a demand draft/cheque drawn in favour of 'EEPC India' payable at Kolkata - Membership Subscription Account.

MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTION FEES

Membership subscription is charged once in a year and it expires on 31st March every year. Existing members may renew their membership for the next year and in that case the membership will be valid up to 31st March of the next financial year. The annual fees are charged according to export of engineering goods/services made by the firm during the year prior to the immediately preceding year.

The Council has set up different Product Panels for the highly varied nature of the engineering sector. Each of these panels make concentrated effort to reach out its products & services to the global market. There are 42 product panels at present.
